ClockDummy! is an atomic clock that actually speaks the time with a real human voice.
It allows you to enhance your standard taskbar clock at the bottom right corner of your
screen by changing the background colors, text color, placing graphics behind the time,
display the month, seconds, military format, and more.
ClockDummy! can actually speak the time on the hour, or as often as you like, with a real
human voice.
ClockDummy! allows you to set events that can display a notification, play a sound,
speak the time, shutdown your computer, run a program, or even play a song or mp3.
Other clock programs may simply display an entire new window as a clock on your desktop. ClockDummy! is actually built right into the standard clock already in your task bar. ClockDummy! is the perfect upgrade to the standard Windows taskbar clock. Enhance your desktop, hear the time, and never be late again!
The ClockDummy! settings screen allows you to change the appearance of your clock in the
bottom right corner of your screen.
Background Image - allows you to select a bitmap (BMP) file to display as the background of your clock. Several background bitmaps come packaged with ClockDummy! or you can select your own. This image should be a small image to roughly fit the clock. If the graphic is too large, it may slow down the refresh rate of the clock.
Colors - allows you to change the background color and text color of the clock. If the background image is turned on, the background color is ignored. After selecting the colors you desire, click the OK button to see the changes take affect.
Font - allows you to change the font, size, and bold or italics of the clock time. A font selction window will appear, allowing you to select a different font. These are fonts already installed on your machine. Note, changing the color of the font from the font selection window will have no effect. To change the color, use the color options in the main settings screen. Also note, choosing too large of a size for your font, may cause the time to appear distorted. You can experiment with the sizes for different fonts, but typically a small size around 9pt to 12pt works best.
Custom Style - allows you to select from a pre-defined list of settings to change your clocks appearance. Making a selection from the Custom Style menu will change your clocks font, size, colors, and settings automatically. You can also manually adjust any of the pre-defined styles by changing individual settings after making a Custom Style selection.
Settings - includes several effects you can add to your time. These effects include:
Enable atomic clock update: synchronizes your clock with the universal time on an Internet server to update your clock the exact second.
Enable clock seconds: displays the seconds on your clock.
Enable 24-hour time format: displays the time in 24-hour style which includes removing the AM/PM indicator and displaying the hour as 1-23.
Enable Month: displays the 3-letter abbreviation for the current month to the left of your clock.
Enable Day: displays the day of the week. When used with the Month, it is displayed as 1-31. When used alone, it is displayed as Monday, Tuesday, etc.
Enable random clock on startup: will select a different clock style and background graphic each time your computer starts up or when you log into Windows.
Voice Sounds - allows ClockDummy! to actually speak the time with a real human voice. You can choose the frequence of when the time should be spoken, such as on the hour.
Notifications - allows you to play a sound effect at a certain time interval, such as on the hour. If you combine this with the Enable spoken time effect, you will first hear the sound effect (such as a chime) and then hear the time spoken.
Events - the Events button allows you set appointments to take effect at a specified time and date. The event can include displaying a notification message, playing a sound, running a program, playing a song or mp3, shutting down your computer, and more. Events can occur at a set date and time, or a specific time every day.
Time - the Time button allows you to change your date/time using the standard Windows Date/Time control panel.
Upgrade - allows you to check for upgrades of ClockDummy! for registered users.
The Event scheduler allows you to set events to occur at specified date/times or every day at a certain time. An event can display a message, play a sound, speak the time, run a program, play a song or mp3, or shutdown the computer. You can view the events screen by clicking the EVENTS button on the main window.
Adding an Event
To add a new event, click the ADD button. Fill in the fields specified to include an event name, message (to be displayed when the event occurs), and optional program to run. If you want to have a song played, click the BROWSE button and search for a music file. If you want
a program to run, click BROWSE and search for an executable file to run.
Select the settings for this event and then set a date/time for this event to occur.
How Do I Open the ClockDummy! Options?
